The Best & Brightest

Why Raven Herron & Company?

I am excited to be part of the team at Raven A Herron & Company. When I began looking at careers in accounting, I knew that I did not want to work for a “Big 4” firm. I wanted to be at a firm that allowed me to work with clients and help solve problems rather than working through thousands of faceless returns. When speaking with Raven, I immediately knew that this firm was going to allow me to do that. I pride myself on the relationships formed with clients and will never let that go. Life is too short to be indifferent.

Why me?

I have been working in tax since 2015 and have gained a wide variety of experience in preparing state and federal returns for different industries including medical professionals, legal professionals, real estate professionals and service-based contractors as well as individuals. I genuinely enjoy helping clients understand their QuickBooks, Financial Statements and tax issues.

What makes me Capable?

I have a Master of Science in Accountancy & Taxation from Southern New Hampshire University. I obtained my Certified Public Accountant license in 2016 and my Certified Fraud Examiner license in 2017. Additionally, I am a ProAdvisor for QuickBooks Desktop and an Advanced ProAdvisor for QuickBooks Online.

About me

I am native Texan, originally from a small town north of Houston. After following my husband around the country for his military service, we have settled in Texas again. Along with our two boys, we enjoy camping, hiking, and fishing. We are also an animal friendly family with a dog, two cats, two leopard geckos and 3 fish tanks. As a young college student, I did not have the slightest idea on what I wanted to be when I “grew up.” I tried Genetics at Texas A&M but being in a lab did not sound appealing. I decided on Business Management because it was generic and would hopefully apply to a wide range of careers. I found out that, while my fellow students struggled, I was quite good at both accounting and statistical analysis. I started to research careers that would utilize these skills and began my journey to CPA. I decided to get my CFE because I wanted to offer Forensic Accounting services as well. I enjoy rooting out the cause of issues, discovering the person responsible and the exact dollar amount of the fraud.
