Why Raven Herron & Company?
Prior to joining Raven Herron & Company, I worked for a small public accounting firm in Shreveport, LA. I worked with them for several years, and I never felt fully valued or respected. I interviewed with many different firms in Shreveport, but none felt like the right fit. I reached out to an old coworker and friend who worked at Raven Herron & Company, and she suggested I interview with their firm. After a brief conversation with Raven and Debbie, I knew this was where I belonged. Raven and Debbie made me feel heard and respected more during that short zoom call than I had ever felt throughout my entire accounting career.
Why me?
I have been working in public accounting since January of 2020. I worked at several firms, large and small, and I have experience preparing federal and state income tax returns for individuals and most entity types. I have extensive experience in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. I truly enjoy helping clients understand and maintain accurate financials, and I find it so rewarding to help clients grow their businesses and achieve their goals. One of the best parts about working for Raven is being able to build long-term relationships with clients while helping them understand their unique situations and needs.
What makes me capable?
I have a Master of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. I am currently studying to sit for the CPA exams. Since starting my journey with Raven Herron & Company, I have learned so much. I am excited to see how far I can go in my career with Raven’s support.
About me?
I am from the small town of Vidalia, Louisiana. The youngest of five siblings, I have one sister and three brothers. After high school, I moved to Shreveport, LA to attend college at Louisiana State University. I originally planned to pursue a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology but quickly realized a science major was not the right fit for me. I decided to switch to accounting, and I immediately decided I wanted to become a Certified Public Accountant.
Outside of my career and studying for the CPA exams, I love shopping and spending time with my friends and family, especially my boyfriend Jack. I have two dogs, Chance and Sophie, who absolutely have my heart. As much as I love having a relaxing day at home, I also enjoy traveling and seeing new places.
